For when it's time to bring in the tech person.
Your business was growing and you were buying all the tech and subscriptions you needed to scale...but now there's only one person with all the login details, onboarding your new team members is taking way too long, you've lost track of your subscriptions and which does what and somehow you're still operating out of spreadsheets because that became easier than making sense of everything else. Girl, I've got you - you focus on your business, I'll focus on your tech.

Your business grew, but your tech didn't get the memo.
Every tool you've got was added for a good reason at the time - someone needed a way to share files, take bookings or send a newsletter, so you signed up and got on with it. The trouble is, nobody ever stepped back to look at how it all fits together. Sound familiar?

- + the ones you forgot you're paying for
A busy team chat channel, # team-general, with 148 unread messages:
- Office manager asks: "Where's the latest version??" Client details, files and decisions end up scattered across inboxes, chats, drives and spreadsheets, so nobody's ever quite sure which version is the right one.
- Owner asks: "Wait, we pay for that?" You're still paying for tools nobody opens and seats for people who left a year ago - and they quietly renew every single month.
- New starter asks: "Can someone send me the login?" Your new starters spend their first week chasing logins and asking where things live, instead of actually getting stuck into the job.
- General manager asks: "Should we be using AI for this?" You know it could save your team hours, but you're not sure where to start and you definitely don't want to put client data at risk.
- April replies: "Leave it with me. I've got it :)"
I've sorted this out at the big end of town. I've taken a large enterprise from 20+ tools down to just 2 (saving them more than $6M a year) - and you get exactly the same thinking, just sized for your team.

Don't just take my word for it - here's what it looks like once the tech is finally sorted.
April streamlined our knowledge management and made things so much easier to find. Our newstarters were onboarded in a week instead of a month.

I was new to the Head of Engineering role and April helped me map out our strategy and plan to move from our legacy platform to our new one. We migrated without a hitch and no customer downtime.

It’s rare to come across standout talent like April and I had the pleasure of working with her for two years. Initially, we worked together delivering various features under her guidance to eventually experiencing some of the best coaching from a leader after the Adepto acquisition.

So what is tech operations?
Put simply, it's the technology behind your business - your CRM, your email marketing and all those subscriptions you've picked up along the way, from Canva to Zoom. I streamline it all so it's simpler, cheaper and much easier for your team to actually use.
Your CRM, email and marketing, subscriptions, and files and logins, all tangled together.
The same four, all connected neatly through your business.
Your CRM
Where all your clients and leads live, like HubSpot or Salesforce.
Your email and marketing
Your inboxes, plus the tools you send your newsletters and campaigns from, like Mailchimp.
Your subscriptions
Canva, Zoom, Dropbox and everything else you pay for each month - and whether anyone's actually using it.
Your files and logins
Where everything gets saved, and who has access to what (and who really shouldn't anymore).
Once it's all sorted, your business will be:
What I can sort out for you
From a messy shared inbox to a full CRM move, this is the stuff I really, really love sorting out - and you don't need to know any of the jargon (that's what I'm here for!).
Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
Set up properly (or tidied up) so your email, calendars and files all live in one place and everyone can find what they need.
CRM set-ups and moves
Getting your clients and leads out of inboxes and spreadsheets and into a CRM your team will actually use.
Subscription clean-ups
I’ll go through every bill and every seat, cancel what nobody uses and make sure you’re not paying for three apps that do the same job.
New starter set-ups
Logins, access and a simple checklist, so new team members can get stuck in on day one (and leavers don’t keep their access).
Safe, practical AI
Finding the spots where AI can genuinely save your team hours each week - and setting it up so your client data stays safe.
Hands-on training
Demos, how-to guides and plenty of patience, so your team feels confident and the changes actually stick.
Usually for businesses with 10 to 100 staff - think professional services, health, trades, agencies, e-commerce and not-for-profits (but if your tech's driving you mad, let's chat anyway).

Tech audit and roadmap
Over two to three weeks I'll go through every tool, login and bill, chat with your team about what's working (and what really isn't) and hand you a clear 90-day plan with a few quick wins to get started on.
I sort it out, or stick around
I can make the changes for you and train your team so they stick, or stay on as your fractional CTO and look after your tech month to month - so it's one less thing on your plate.
Wondering what working together looks like? Every business is different, so I'll walk you through the options (and what they cost) on our chat, based on what you actually need.

Hi, I'm April, your friendly neighbourhood tech girly.
When you hear "CTO", you probably picture a guy in a hoodie. Plot twist: it's actually me.
I've spent more than 15 years in product and engineering, everywhere from large-scale enterprise to scrappy startups, and the part I've always loved most is making the tech behind a business actually work. I've taken a large enterprise from 20+ tools down to just 2 (saving them more than $6M a year) and unlocked 40,000+ hours of productivity in a single year - so yes, a good tech tidy-up is very much my happy place.
Alt is for the female founders out there running brilliant businesses who just want someone in their corner who gets it - someone who'll explain things in plain English, tell you what's genuinely useful (AI included) and what's just hype, and then actually roll up her sleeves and get it done. Girl to girl, I've got you.
Let me sort your techQuestions people ask first
Is this just IT support?
Not quite! Your IT provider looks after your devices and the help desk, whereas I look at how your tools, subscriptions and processes all fit together and help your team actually use them (and I'm always happy to work alongside your IT provider).
We're not a tech company. Is this for us?
Absolutely. You don't need to build software to need a tech person - if your business runs on email, a CRM, shared drives and chat, your tech is worth getting right.
Do you only work with female founders?
Not at all! I especially love working with female founders, but if your business has outgrown its tech, I'd love to help - whoever's running the show.
How much of my time will it take?
Not much at all! About an hour for our chat, and a few short conversations with your team during the audit. I'll take care of the rest.
Why not hire a full-time CTO?
Most growing businesses don't need one full-time just yet (and honestly, the salary can be a bit eye-watering). With a fractional CTO you get the same experience for a set number of days each month, and we can dial it up or down as your business needs.
What happens on the free chat?
We'll talk through what's slowing you down and I'll tell you what I'd tackle first. If it feels like a good fit, I'll walk you through how the audit works - no hard sell, I promise :)
Do you work outside Brisbane?
Yes! I'm happy to come on-site anywhere in South East Queensland, and I work remotely with businesses right across Australia.
It's not you. It's your tools.
Tell me what's slowing your team down and I'll tell you what I'd fix first - and if you'd like me to, I'll take it from there.
